Katagiri is close to Grand Central Station and offers Japanese grocery items prepared foods like onigiri, bento boxes, takoyaki, and more. a small, clean, organized space—packed with a lot of Japanese items. stopped here recently and picked up some dumplings as a snack and they hit the spot. definitely worth a stop by if you want something sweet or savory. service is fast and friendly.

Osakana outpost, in store as of 2/11 I believe. Amazing fish selection for cooked or raw dishes! Also a great market to pickup a quick take out lunch.

A Japanese style boutique grocery store, $2-3 rice balls for lunch, not a NYC price! Plenty of options and even more affordable food and drinks to choose from, highly recommend!

Love this place. Perfect for grabbing lunch during work time. The onigiri is so so good but the star is the omakase sets

Great little store for all your Japanese Grocery needs. The store is quite complete, and their selection is almost exactly what you would find in a similar store in Japan. The staff is friendly and courteous. Even if you don't know too much about Japanese products, it's a great place to just go and experiment with snacks. Also, they have a wide selection of onigiri (rice balls) thst are perfect for a quick snack or a light lunch or dinner.

I received one of my favorite sushi rolls from my employer, who has a refined taste in Asian cuisine. My employer read my mind when the sushi was selected for me. The famous Dragon Roll, carefully crafted and seasoned with red caviar, has a unique blend of spicy mayo, avocado, unagi, sushi rice, cucumber, and nori (seaweed), all crafted to perfection. Thank you Katagiri for making this delicious sushi roll!

Came here and grabbed a nice lunch - there was a it of wait at lunch hour. Loads of things to buy for authentic Japanese dishes. Took pics of the sore to see if you can find what you’re looking for on the shelves!

This cute little Japanese market reminds me of 7/11 and Family Mart back in Japan. The onigiri was so good. And the service is amazing! I forgot to tell the cashier I needed a bag before she rang up the purchase and I didn't have the exact change to pay for just the bag. I offered to pay but the lady refused and just waived the bag fee.

One of the best in NYC. They've got everything Sunrise Mart and Dainobu has, and they do their own little thing by offering their style of rice balls/onigiri at the entrance of the shop. Thing is though, their onigiri are better than other spots I've been to. In fact, their onigiri takes #1 spot for me, above Sunrise Mart and Dainobu. I like them so much for a few reasons. For one, they serve the onigiri with marinated rice. The flavor is subtle and a little savory. Their chicken karaage onigiri has a generous sized piece of fried chicken resting at the center of the marinated white rice (which has a nice, darkened look to it). The chicken itself was fresh and tasted as if it had been fried within the hour. The freshness was a nice plus along with the portion. Third was the aesthetic of it. It was hand made sure, but the presentation gave a sense of being prepared at home by a mom. Really cozy and personal feel to it. Shape was actually very round and not the traditional triangle style. That added to the homemade feel. I'll be trying their spam musubi next, which was actually even larger than the karaage and will update this review whenever. Thanks Katagiri.

This spot quickly became our favorite place in NY for quick bites and snacks when we're still hungry at the end of the day. They put their prepared sushi & hot foods on sale close to closing time, and its such a deal! I also really enjoyed their rice balls, they had such a huge variety. This is close by Grand Central station, so its nice to pick up a little riceball snack here to eat while walking and sightseeing the station.
